Hey y’all!
We had a great December session and I am looking forward to getting back together in January for weekly sessions. Here is a list of thinks you need to do over the break to get ready for the new year:

Purchase a rubber practice pad. There are several models available, the Vic Firth Heavy Hitter line is a great place to start. Click here for a link to this practice pad.
Practice your fundamentals:

- Sticks at a 75 degree angle
- Sticks 1″ above the playing surface
- Beads (or tips) of sticks together at the center of the playing surface
- Practice the details of grip (check the packet on the wfhsband.com drumline site, if you have forgotten the details)
- Practice while marking time (moving your feet in tempo). Remember we start playing with our RIGHT hand, but start marking time with the LEFT foot.
- Practice your heights in front of a mirror!
